An unofficial guide to publicly available resources, organizations, and laws allowing you to stay informed on Chartiers Valley's operations and management.

Informational Resources

This website and the content provided here is an unofficial source from the Chartiers Valley Historical Society. This site is not affiliated with, maintained by, nor managed by the Chartiers Valley School District. For the official district website, please click here.

The most powerful tool available to the community are the digital resources and open records for the Chartiers Valley School District. Below are a list of resources we utilize for this site and recommend to all those who wish to stay informed with the various operations of the district. It’s not an exhaustive list, merely a starting point.

  • Official District Website - The district’s website has always struggled with accessibility and usefulness throughout several redesigns over the years. It’s ultimately the best source of truth from the official source. We archive the entire district site periodically to capture changes over time.
  • Electronic School Board- The school board posts meeting agendas with attachments on proposed approvals, motions, etc. This is a gold mine of valuable right to know information. If the board discusses or passes something, it should be posted here. We archive the school board site periodically on this site to prevent historical revisionism and tampering.
  • Chartiers Valley’s Right to Know - In Pennsylvania, you have the right to submit a Right To Know request to any publicly funded agency. Often referred to as sunshine laws, if information isn’t already available publicly, you can directly ask the district for it.
  • District Mailing List - The district sends digital newsletters to community members with periodic updates on happenings and communications from the board and superintendents. It’s often used as damage control mechanism and a good source of information as it happens. The link may change over time, we recommend finding it on the district website.
  • CV Transparency YouTube - An unofficial channel not managed by the district that broadcasts live and records most school board meetings. Previously live recordings are kept for viewing later. We archive these videos in our collection for safe keeping.
