E.L. Shepard Elementary School
E.L. Shepard Elementary School was one of the first schools to be commissioned by the Chartiers Valley Joint Schools in 1958. The structure would contain 7 class rooms and 1 kindergarten. It cost $454,311 in 1959 and $4,910,617 in 2024. E.L. Shepard was one of the few commissioned schools where the district did not already own the land or received it as a gift.
It would house K - 7 until 1974 when it sent seventh grade students to the Chartiers Valley Middle School.
E.L. Shepard would close in 1996 after sending K - 2 students to the newly constructed Chartiers Valley Primary School, then considered state of the art. After its closure, the land would be sold to a church. The structure was razed for the new chapel.
