Chartiers Valley Joint Senior High School

Chartiers Valley Joint Senior High School was the first building constructed under the newly formed Chartiers Valley Joint Schools. Shortly after the jointure was formed in 1955, the growing student population amongst the previously independent districts necessitated a new structure. Designed for a capacity of 1,231 students, the new building would house students in grades 10 - 12. Ground was broken for the new school on 3/15/59. In total, the new senior high school cost $1,985,843 in 1959 and $21,464,847.33 in 2024.

The 1960 - 1961 school year would be the first for students in this new building. Bridgeville High School and Scott Township High School sent their students in grades 10 - 12.

In the late 60s, the student population once again began to outgrow the senior high school. Once completed, students would move in 1972 to the new Chartiers Valley High School on Thoms Run Road. The senior high school would then become the Chartiers Valley Middle School. It would remain the middle school until 1994 when it was dedicated one last time as the Chartiers Valley Intermediate School.
